Aber Valley Heritage Museum

The Universal Colliery in Senghenydd was the scene of the largest mining disaster in British history, when in 1913, 440 men and boys (including one rescue worker) lost their lives in a devastating explosion. This followed a previous disaster in 1901 where 81 colliery workers were also killed. Also documents the wider history of the Valley, including the Windsor Colliery and more.
